Prohibition of the dedicated medical facilities for non-face-to-face treatment
The government and the medical community have agreed to manage non-face-to-face medical treatment centered on returning patients at clinic-level medical facilities. It's decided to ban it at the dedicated medical facilities for non-face-to-face treatment.
The Ministry of Health & Welfare and the Korean Medical Association held the 2nd meeting of the ‘Consultative Body for Current Medical Issues’ on Feb. 9th.
On this day, they discussed how to proceed to promote non-face-to-face medical treatment, which is temporarily allowed.
The Ministry of Health & Welfare has accepted the proposals by the Korean Medical Association and has agreed on the following contents under the purpose of promoting public health: ▲Principle on face-to-face treatment, Using non-face-to-face medical treatment as an auxiliary measure, ▲Medical treatment centered on returning patients, ▲Clinic-level medical facilities-oriented implementation, and ▲ Prohibition of the dedicated medical facilities for non-face-to-face treatment, ect.
The two sides have discussed the scope and types of key tasks which needed to strengthen essential medical care and community medical care and also Improvement of the health care system, and have decided to concretize the contents in the future.
On the other hand, the industry claims that it should be allowed even the first medical visits in limited circumstances, such as when pediatric patients need antipyretics. The hospital society is insisting that it should be expanded to the hospital-level facilities for reasons such as follow-up management for severe patients and surgical patients.
